Lacquer Thinner is used for the thinning and clean-up of lacquers and most epoxies. It can be used for cleaning brushes immediately after use.

Directions:

  1. Safety precautions:
    • Work in a well-ventilated area or outdoors to avoid inhaling fumes. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles to protect your skin and eyes.
    • Keep the lacquer thinner away from open flames or sparks as it is highly flammable.
    • Read the manufacturer's instructions and warnings on the lacquer thinner container before use.
  2. Test an inconspicuous area:
    • Before applying lacquer thinner to the entire vehicle, test it on a small, hidden area to ensure it doesn't cause any adverse reactions or damage the paint.
  3. Cleaning the surface:
    • Remove any loose dirt, grime, or debris from the vehicle's surface using a gentle car wash soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow the vehicle to dry completely.
  4. Applying lacquer thinner:
    • Moisten a clean, lint-free cloth or sponge with lacquer thinner. Do not soak the cloth excessively; it should be damp, not dripping.
    • Begin by gently rubbing the lacquer thinner-soaked cloth over a small area of the vehicle's surface. Start with a less visible area to gauge the effect.
    • Apply light pressure and work in small circular motions. Avoid scrubbing vigorously, as this may damage the paint.
    • As you work, periodically check the cloth for any paint or finish that may be coming off. If you notice significant paint transfer, stop immediately to prevent further damage.
  5. Rinse and clean:
    • After applying lacquer thinner to a section, immediately rinse the area with clean water and a sponge or hose. This helps to remove any residue and prevents the thinner from drying on the surface.
    • Dry the vehicle with a soft, clean towel or allow it to air dry.
  6. Finishing touches:
    • Once the vehicle is completely dry, inspect the area where you applied the lacquer thinner. If necessary, repeat the process on stubborn stains or blemishes.
    • After the cleaning process, it is recommended to wax or polish the vehicle to protect the paint and restore its shine. Follow the instructions provided with the wax or polish product.
